Night at the museum is the best adventure movie I saw for a long time.
Ben Stiller plays the role of a guy that didn’t have a steady job for ages. And is almost evicted from his home. So as a last resort he find himself the job as night watch at the National History Museum.
The thing they didn’t tell him is that after sun set the things in the museum come to live. He needs to make sure to keep them all happy and make sure he doesn’t get eaten 
The story has some interesting twist and is real fun to go see in the theater.

At Calgary Airport in terminal D (domestic flights) you can find the coffee place Pastel’s. If you get there i would say AVOID!
The service is bad and slow and the staff is not friendly. We went there this morning because Starbucks and Tim Hortens where to busy but next time i wait in line with any other place then Pastel’s.
The girl at the counter that helped us was short and not friendly. She was busy but that was mainly because the other 3 people behind the counter just had time to drink there thee even after the girl asked for help several times.
It took her more then 5 minutes to make our bagel and that was mainly because she was helping 6 people at the same time.
I would say next time when you travel through terminal D at Calgary airport go see one of the other coffee places i am sure that you will be served better then at Pastel’s!!

Nintendo introduced the Forecast Channel. So now the people that got their hands on a Nintendo Wii can see the weather.
When you click the Forecast Icon you will be told that and update is ready for you. After the update is downloaded and Wii connect 24 is turned on your weather channel on your Wii is ready to use 
I have to say that i am not impressed with the weather. Or at least it is of allot with the local weather reports. But maybe they will be right
But the world globe is great. Now you can show your kids the world map without having to get the old atlas out of the bookshelf. And just hold the button a bit and make a swing and see the world go spin
The weather info tels you the current weather, today and tomorrows weather and in some cases a 5 day view (seems to be only in North America) and you can see UV info so that you know when to put your sunscreen.
I have to say that i will probably use this tool often. It looks great and is fun to play with. I would say skip you other tasks for to day and go check it out.

Today I went on a quest for a LCD monitor for my computer. I wanted a wide-screen that could do at least a resolution of 1600 x 800 so that meant 20 inch or more.
I looked around and brought a visit to Future Shop in Coventry Hills in Calgary. The guy that helped me there was kinda pushy but not as much as you see in some other future shops in Calgary (specially the one in NE is bad). And he gave me some things to think about.
So Basically it came down to a 22 inch Samsung or a 20 inch LG. But then i asked him what kind of video adapter i needed to come to the maximum resolution of 1680 x 1050(that both screens support). Then the guy showed me some video adapters but ALL didn’t support the wide screen resolution. And when i pointed that out to him he said that it would not be possible to get that resolution in Windows ??????? so that surprised me even more but i let him talk. He got very defencive and at the end i just cut it of.
It was very strange that they put some one in a department that doesn’t know what he sells and for me this store will not easily be on my route. Let’s try a different Future Shop next time.
Lucky me i got my 20 inch Samsung from Staples (next door to Future Shop) the KID that helped me there was very helpful and together we looked for the answer to my question. So now i got a new Video Card (and it supports 1680 x 1050) and a new Samsung LCD monitor.
If people of Staples read this i would say GOOD JOB i will be back next time. And for the Future Shop people i would say Train your people how to deal with Customers and maybe give them some product knowledge

Let me tell you a little bit about the movie “The Holiday”
The Holiday is the Romantic Christmas movie that just went in to theater. We went to see it yesterday and i have to say that i was surprised that so few people where at this movie.
The Holiday is about Amanada (Carman Diaz) and Iris (Kate Winslet) two girls that just had a nasty relation ship break and decide to swap houses. Amanda lives in LA and Iris lives in a small village in England (45 minutes from London )
Irist seem to love her new live in LA and makes friends with her new Neighbor and a movie composer (Jack Black) and Amanda runs in to Irisis Brother.
It was a positive surprise how well Jack Black does in this role he is still “funny” but also serious at times.
I would say go see the holiday and see where Amanda and Iris run in to.
The story is fun, it starts a bit slow and it has some strange gaps but still it is a fun movie to go see in the movie theater.
Or wait till The Holiday
comes out on DVD.

Yesterday I got my first Gamecube game so now I was able for the first time to test how Gamecube games work on the Nintendo Wii. Before you can play Gamecube games you need to get yourself a Gamecube remote and memory card because the Wii remote or memory don’t work in Gamecube games 
A well i got myself this stuff when i got my Wii so i was ready to play
I put the game in the Wii and yep there the Nintendo GameCube logo appeared where you normally see the game logo when you use a Wii disk. So i started the game with my Wii mote and then i was able to play the game like it should. Everything works fine except….
I can’t exit the game. If I want to go back to the Wii mode i need to eject the disk and restart the Wii (on and off). Why didn’t Nintendo build a better way to deal with this???
A well i now have a nice new game to play and i will tell you more about that game in later versions of this blog.
And remember there are lots of nice games out there for the Gamecube and they are most times lower in price so think about that when you look for a new game.

Do you own or want one of those great Palm PDA’s? If so then you would like some kind of protection. So when I got my new Palm LifeDrive
i ordered also the Palm Hardcase for the Lifedrive and that was a BIG mistake!
I used the hardcase for the first couple of days and was kind of happy with it. But then one day I get my Palm from the table and BANG the Lifedrive just slides out of it’s case and hit the floor Luckily it didn’t brake but since then i didn’t use this case again.
What the problem is with this hardcase is that it is open on the top so in principle your palm could just slide in there are it is kinda snug but still sometimes your palm will be able to escape from it’s protective case!
Also the door mechanism is very flimsy and for some people extremely difficult to open.
This Palm hardcase is the 3 case i got. First i used a palm case on my Palm Vx and my M515 and those case where great they where everything i wanted but this case is a wast of you money!
A good thing to know is that the lifedrive comes with a nice leather looking cover that protects your palm lifedrive from accidents i would say try the included cover first before you buy yourself another protecting cover for you palm Lifedrive.

There is one again a new James Bond movie with a new James Bond. This time 007 is Daniel Graig and i have to say he is pretty good at his job as secret agent.
This James Bond movie is based on the first ever James Bond book written by Ian Fleming called Casino Royale
. I have to say that i have read the book but it is a long time ago and i can say not much of the book is used like it was written. But still it a good movie.
In Casino Royale James just got his double 00 status that gives him a licence to kill and he uses it to make some mess and M is not really happy about that.
This James Bond Movie is probably the most “normal” Bond movie i saw in a long time. Not so many impossible things happen and that gives it a more realistic feeling. Also James still has some nice girls around but it doesn’t seem to be at the same level as the movies before.
It is also good to see that BMW is definitely out of the movie and the nice Austin Martins are back. In Casino Royale James drives a DB5 and the brand new DBs and the last one will not be returned to Austin Martin
There is like in most Bond movies a lot of hidden advertisement like most cars are part of Ford group you will see Land Rovers, Fords and of course Austin Martins. Also Sony is a big payer this time with their Viao Laptops and there Sony Ericson phones.
After seeing this movie i still wonder why Richard Brandson wanted to be in the picture for like 2 seconds (pay attention at the metal detectors at Miami airport).
But let me go tell you a bit about the story line. This Bond movie is about a guy that laundress and invests criminal money. And after James stops a big thing from happening the guy is not happy because the criminals are after him because they want their money back. So that is in short the story of the movie where is the money and where does it ends up
I would say if you liked James Bond movies in the past you can’t miss this one. Go see it, I promise you that you will like it!

Today Nintendo put some new virtual games on sale Ok they are not really new they are actually pretty old
But old doesn’t mean not fun. I got myself the game Columns it originally was made for the Sega Genesis console but now you can play it on your Nintendo Wii. You can get this game through the shopping channel on your Wii and it costs 800 points.
Ok lets talk game Columns is basically a Tetris clone and lots of people including me like those kinda games. You have multiple controller options in Columns for the Nintendo Wii. You can use the Classic controller, the Game cube controller but you can also just use your Wii mote and that is what i did. Just turn you remote 90 degrees and you are ready to play.
The goal of this game is to put 3 the same colors in a row. What happens is a long block of 3 colors will fall down and you need to place it on the right spot and when it is falling you can rotate the color order so that it is the most useful for you. But do it quick because if you don’t make the quick decisions your field will fill up and then the game is over
The speed increases a fair bit in this game and for me that meant that till now i only got till level 5 but i am sure that we will beat the high score that is in the game right now
If you like Tetris then this game of Columns could be a lot of fun. And before i forget you can play it with two players so just do a little competition with your friends.
