Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular

Devine performing arts chinese spectacular

Calgary Jubilee Auditorium got a visit from the dance show Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular a show that tells you all kind of Chinese stories in the form of dance of vocals.

The Jubilee Auditorium was a almost full house when we went to see the Chinese Spectacular and that even after all the bad press they got it mainly because of the Chinese government not agreeing with the show.

Chinese Spectacular show us a various view of different little stories from the Chinese culture and for me as non Chinese it was a new way of looking at this. I heard from Chinese friends that saw the show that it contains some strong propaganda to but that was not for me to understand.

The show is build around small performances that are not directly connected to each other but the dance and singing acts are talked together by a nice presenting duo and are done in Chinese and English.

It is a great experience and the brightly colored costumes are a pearl on the eye. The show is worth a visit and people please stay after intermission to! In the show that we visited lots of chairs became empty after intermission but maybe it was just because the show takes a lot of time we where there for more the 3 hours and they where worth it.

If you have a changes to go see the Chinese Spectacular show i would say do it, it is worth to experience the Chinese culture a bit better.

McDonald’s, North Hill, Calgary

McDonald's Angus Burger tasts great at the calgary mcdonalds

This time a fast snack at McDonald’s resulted in a visit to the McDonald’s at the corner of 4 Street NW and 23 Ave NW here in Calgary. The McDonald’s is hard to miss because of the big M in the front. The ordering section of this McDonald’s is small and feel a bit cramped when there are a lot of people in line. The dining area is nice and gives you the feeling of one of those 50 / 60 dinners with lots of car mirrors on the wall and freshly colored boots.

The staff was nice but and ordering went smooth. The tables where not that clean and most tables still had stuff from the previous customers lying there a cleanup from some staff would have bin nice.

I ended up getting one of the new Angus burgers and I have to say hmmmmm tasted good. A real ground beef patty on a freshly toasted bun. I hope this one will stay for a while. A real nice change from the normal stuff McDonald’s offers.

So what do I think? I guess this McDonald’s stays on my list of places that can get a next visit it was nicely decorated and that makes it a lot nicer to enjoy your food.
