After a long day of hardwork and finding our favorite place still closed we went to bring a visit to the Halibut House a seafood and Fish and Chips shop on the corner on Edmonton Trail N.E. and 9th Ave N.E.
Halibut House has the inside look of a fastfood place and I believe that it really is one to. There is enough seating space and it nice with some fishing nets with plastic fish and some posters with fish on it on the wall.
There is lots of choice of food and I orderd the Halibut & Chips and the taste was OK the fish was kinda blend of taste but it contained real fish and not like most cheap fish places more batter then fish. The fries where overkooked and blackend.
Although I Like my fries a bit over done I don’t think that this will convice me to come back to the Halibut House.

While waiting to pay at a gas station I ran in to this cool gadget for us Nintendo freaks.
A candy dispensers that looks like a Wii mote and it even has the official Nintendo Seal on it.
The Klik-On kit comes with 4 roles of candy that you can put in the top of the dispenser by moving the top of. Then you are ready to have some fun. If you press the B button (on the back) then a piece of candy comes flying out and sometimes it has a descent amount of force to hurt someone if you shoot them in the eye.
The nice thing is that they really looked at detail and so the Wii Klik-on looks like a real remote but a little bit smaller. It even has the battery compartment and that is just big enough to store 2 roles of candy in it so that you are prepared for the trip.

Lunch today was at the A&W in Drumheller. This A&W is a smaller restaurant with not to much seating but enough for the load of visitors it had when we got there.
The place is small but clean with the usual A&W decor on the wall and a clean and welcoming seating.
Ordering went well but after that the wait for your food was longer then I hoped for and probably the longest I had to wait for food in a fast food restaurant.
I got a Chubby Chicken menu and I have to say the chicken was nice and crispy and a pleasure to eat. Real good chicken nicely cooked.
Would I go back to this A&W? To be honest I don’t know if I would but it would be an option next time when I go to Drumheller again.

Today lunch was done at a little dinner close to Bowness park called Angels it has a small sitting area with like 10 tables and some sitting area outside and offers a drive in to. At lunch Angles was busy and that means that if you want food quick this is probably not the place to be.
You order your food at the counter and then you go take a seat and wait for your food to arrive. The sitting area are all boots and some of them have there own jukebox but they where not working today. The whole atmosphere is nice and make you feel like you are back in the past.
The food at Angles was really good maybe the burgers look just simple but they have a great taste and that is what counts. Angles also sells some great ice cream to make the complete meal experience great.
When you are in Bowness i would say go give Angles a try!

Diner Deluxe is one of those places that are not part of a big chain or franchise and still have a great way of preparing there food.
On a Saturday afternoon it will be difficult to get in but let me tell you there is coffee waiting and some oldies on an old TV to make you wait more fun.
The ambiance at Diner Deluxe is great it is not very big but still the whole place has an unique feel with furniture looking like they are from the 50s and 60s.
Service at Diner Deluxe is super the staff is extremely busy but they all seem to have fun and really keep an eye out for your needs.
About the food not much bad to say either. It is SUPER it taste great it looks great and you probably want to get back to Diner Deluxe for you next meal.
My conclusion can only be positive after what i wrote before so let me just say. If you didn’t go here yet GO and try it you will not be disappointed!

Normally we didn’t do revisits in reviews but maybe we should start doing Revisit reviews to see what happened in the past. Remember our previous Coast Mountain Sports Review?
Last time I mainly wrote about the shoe department but this time we go to something different.
I was looking for a bear Bell and saw them at MEC (across the street from Coast) for 2.75 and thought that was a great price for them. But I had a gift card for Coast Mountain sports so i decided to try my luck there. At Coast the same Bear Bell was 3.99 so of course i didn’t want to pay that much for it
I asked a girl and said they price match at checkout. So I looked a bit more around in the store and then went to pay.
There I told the girl about the price difference with MEC and that the other person told me they would price match it. At that point the girl walked away with my bell and returned a bit later without it and said we needed to wait……..
And that was all she said nothing more happened for minutes and minutes and then finally she went back to the back and came back with my bell and gave me the discounted price.
The whole experience was a bit strange there was not conversation at all between those wait and payment don’t know much about customer service but to me this didn’t feel like service at all it more felt like you want this bell then you need to wait till I say you can have it.
It is that Coast Mountain Sports is across from MEC so when you can’t find something at MEC this is the easiest place to go but other wise i would not bother bringing them a visit.

The book Alaska is a Novel written by Frank Lauria but based on the movie Alaska
yes you read that right the book is based on a motion picture movie.
Alaska is all about two kids that moved with there dad from Chicago where he was a Boeing 747 pilot to a small town in Alaska to be a bush pilot. The daughter (Jessie) has a great time in the new surroundings but her brother (Sean) can’t really settle in this new surrounding.
But then one day in bad weather the plane from there dad disappears in a storm. After a search and rescue didn’t find anything the authorities give up on the search. And you guessed it already the kids go on there search for there dad.
All in all a nice story that would offer some nice twists but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to hold the same excitement as the movie did for me. Maybe the kids would like a book like this and find out what happens to the Polar Bear (see picture)
I would say if you liked the movie then stay away from the book but if you didn’t see the movie then why no read it and then see the movie
