I really loved this book.
In general I like Nick Hornby’s style of writing and dark yet subtle humor, so its not a big surprise that this book was a huge hit with me.
In Nick Hornby’s How to Be Good, Katie Carr is certainly trying to be good. That’s why she became a GP. That’s why she cares about Third World debt and homelessness, and struggles to raise her children with a conscience. It’s also why she puts up with her husband David, the self-styled Angriest Man in Holloway.
But one fateful day, she finds herself in a Leeds parking lot, having just slept with another man. What Katie doesn’t yet realize is that her fall from grace is just the first step on a spiritual journey more torturous than the interstate at rush hour. Because, prompted by his wife’s actions, David is about to stop being angry. He’s about to become good–not politically correct, organic-food-eating good, but good in the fashion of the Gospels. And that’s no easier in modern-day Holloway than it was in ancient Israel.
Hornby means us to take his title literally: How can we be good, and what does that mean? However, quite apart from demanding that his readers scrub their souls with the nearest available Brillo pad, he also mesmerizes us with that cocktail of wit and compassion that has become his trademark. The result is a multifaceted jewel of a book: a hilarious romp, a painstaking dissection of middle-class mores, and a powerfully sympathetic portrait of a marriage in its death throes. It’s hard to know whether to laugh or cry as we watch David forcing his kids to give away their computers, drawing up schemes for the mass redistribution of wealth, and inviting his wife’s most desolate patients round for a Sunday roast. But that’s because How to Be Good manages to be both brutally truthful and full of hope. It won’t outsell the Bible, but it’s a lot funnier. –Matthew Baylis

Ishmael and adventure of mind and spirit a book by Daniel Quinn.
This book is one of those books that people should read. Ishmael story can get a lot of people thinking. I will not give to much details because that would spoil the fun and this book is definitely fun to read.
The story start when a guy read the following ad in the newspaper “TEACHER seeks pupil. Must have an earnest desire to save the world. Apply in Person”
And that brings the two main characters in this book together. One (Ismael) tries to teach the other about the world and what happened to it in the years of it’s exsistens.
It is not only fun to read it but because it tell you about things that happened in this world it really makes you think. This book is has a spiritual twist and that i guess makes it not a book for everyone but if you like me enjoyed reading books like the The Celestine Prophecy
then you would definitely enjoy this book and the journey it takes us on.
I would say go see you library for a copy or order Ishmael: An Adventure of the Mind and Spirit
online en help us run the side by doing so.

“Why we want you to be Rich” is the newest book from Donald Trump and Rober Kiyosaki and I have to say it is not there best book.
I really like both authors a lot and I have several books from them and read even more but this one is not their best work.
To me it seems like they talk about everything they already told us in other books. OK maybe there is nothing more to say but still try to make it a bit more original i would say.
I would advise you not to buy this book if you already have read some of Donald’s and Roberts books if not then this book could be nice to read.
Another thing is that the book is build that first Robert Kiyosaki and then Donald Trump tell there opinion on a subject and that doesn’t read that well.
My conclusion is it is a nice looking book that doesn’t hold to much new information.
