We have been meaning to see this movie for a long time.. and finally we did see it. OK it would have been far more enjoyable in the winter probably around christamas time, however even in the heat of the summer it was an extremely appealing movie. The cast is huge, but the movie has a simple message, love is all around us, we just have to open our eyes and see it, and open our hearts and let it in, also love has no barriers of age, language, or relationships.
Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean, has a small but special role in this movie)
Try and catch this movie, it will be worth it!

Ok this is a stupid but very funny movie. I had a chance of seeing it on a long flight, and i must say it got me laughing out loud and kept me entertained. The story is very simply 4 funny guys in the 50’s are tired of thier boring lives and decide to ride their motorbikes across America. They have many adventures, including being labelled as gay, finding love and making new enemies. Tim Allen and John Travolta are very convincing.
A funny movie, that can easily be rented or order a copy of Wild Hogs
at Amazon.

Ok, we didnt have extremely high expectations from this movie, and it gave us just that. The script was bad, the acting was really bad and the plot, well there really wasnt any. I can easily say you should rent this movie on a really rainy cold day, with lots of popcorn and other distractions.
The story is about a silver surfer who is destroying earth, and the Fantastic 4 who have their own problems are trying to stop him, in the mix is added Viktor, who for some reason (unexplained) is alive and well. The surfer reveals his agenda and lack of choice, and all in all the world is saved, even though Susan does die once!
If you rent this movie, you are probably still paying too much.

A must see movie by all.
I really loved this movie, although set up for children, it has many aspects that adults might enjoy. The fantasy world of Terabithia was so real and I really loved how real life characters and problems all became incorporated into this growing and changing world.
THe special effects are ok, rent or go see it.

This was the worst of the 3 Shrek movies. It tried to show the insecurities felt by a guy (ogre) who is about to become a father, however didnt come out as quite convincing. It felt like the directors were trying too hard to outdo the second movie (the best of the 3) however failed miserably. The 3 princesses that helped Fiona fight Prince charming were very funny, and of course Charming was great as usual. Donkey was a father of 3 Dragon/donkey hybrids (when did this happen?) and puss with the big sappy eyes was a tired and old ploy.
I recommend renting this movie.

This movie by Deepa Mehta is going to be known and watched for a long time. Its a very simple, and subtle movie, yet with a powerful thread throughout.
The story is set in the 1930’s in Varanasi in India, when Mahatma Gandhi was was imprisoned by the British who didnt want to free India. The plot revolves around a little girl named Chuhiya who becomes a widow at age 7 and is dumped in an Ashram-a refuge for widowed women by her family (touching on issues such as child marriage). There, as Chuhiya copes and learns to survive, she befriends a young widow named Kalyani (Lisa Ray). Kalyani falls in love with a young man Narayan (John Abraham) who hails from an influencial family in the village. Everyone is opposed to this love affair, and the plot thickens. I highly recommend this movie, the characters will touch your heart and the injustice and helplessness present throughout will make your soul weep.

The new Mira Nair movie Namesake, was simply great. Its a very well made movie, with a simple theme, and simple story. I really enjoyed the way it was projected, it was not spoon fed, and left the viewer with space for their own thoughts.
Its a story set in New York, where a young Bengali couple from Calcutta have moved and decided to live. As time goes on, they have a couple of kids, and their son “Gogol” especially hates his name, and wants to change it. However after hearing from his father why he was given that name, he has many doubts.
For anyone who has moved to another country and has tried to fit in, yet keep up with their own culture, this movie will hit home; otherwise, anyone who has had any kind of relationship with their parents will also strike a chord with characters in this movie.
If you can wait, I would recommend you rent this movie, the movie theater doesnt add any special effects, oh yeah and bring lots of “kleenex”.

Last night we went to see the new Chris Rock Movie “I think I love my Wife” It is only playing a couple of days and still there where only 5 people in the theater (we where with 3). And that amount of people give a good picture how BAD this movie is.
The movie revolves around a guy (Chris Rock) that is married and has two children and don’t get enough sex.
Then an old girlfriend shows up and all kind of not funny stuff happens.
I think People like Chris Rock need to focus at what they are good at and not trying to do everything themselves. With this film Chris made the screenplay was the producer and played the main character. It is to much and that all made this one of the worst movies I ever saw.
My advise don’t bother to go see it in the theater and if you want to see it wait till you get it for free with a pack of popcorn.
I think I love my wife is not worth your time or money.

Ok I admit this is an older movie (from 2002), but i happened to see it again and it reminded me of how impressed I was with it the first time.
Its a dramatic story told by a 15 year old girl named Astrid, on how her life is strongly influenced by her mother, a powerful characted played by Michelle Pfieffer. When her mother is put in jail for murder, Astrid is thrown from foster home to foster home to juvenile halls. Over time Astrid learns that not everything her mother taught her was true.
Good movie to rent.

I would love to say that this is a feel good movie, however its none of the sort. I would classify this more as a dark comedy.
Olive is a very special girl who lives with her mom, dad brother Dwane and grandpa. Her parents are always working to keep food on the table, although most times they eat take out fried chicken. Her mom’s gay brother who had recently tried to kill himself, comes to live with her family, thats when Olive finds out she has been selected to compete in the “Little Miss Sunshine” pagent in California. Under the supervision of grandpa Olive had been practising for this very occasion, so the family piles up into their old Volkswagen bus and hit the road. The wierd social aspects this family shares with each other will make you laugh throughout the movie, as will the “real life” sadness in them bring tears to your eyes.
